About Shahrul Mizad

Mohd Shahrul Mizad Ashari or known as Eijat is an individual with extensive experience in the field of theatre. He started acting in 1993 while studying at Universiti Sains Malaysia. He pursues his Master of Creative Arts (MA) at Akademi Seni Budaya Dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA). Apart from being involved in acting, he has also been experienced in directing. Currently, he works as a lecturer and is teaching at the Faculty of Theatre at ASWARA.

Acting

(Experimental Theatre) such as, Bondings, Langkau, and Di Bawah Lindungan Kaabah.

(Monodrama) Menunggu Lampu Hijau, 3 Lives, Lembu, Charley's Auntie and Jangan Bunuh Sam.

(Musical) Dia Semanis Honey

Directing

(Aristocratic theatre) such as Laksamana Cheng Ho, Raja Laksamana Bentan, Bunga Sakti Chinta malam, Raden Galoh Chandra, and Seri Teri Buana.

(Moden theatre) The Miracle Seed, Bad Girls, Perhiasan Kaca, and Assyura.

Achievement

He had achieved several awards and certificates for his amazing acting skills. One of the most memorable achievements that he managed to gain is the Cameronian Awards for the Best Performance in Spilt Gravy on Rice. He also manages to get into the top 5 for the Best Solo Performance in Lembu and last but not least the Best Group Performance in Alang Rentak Seribu.

Teaching

Prior to teaching full-time at ASWARA, he taught at UITM Shah Alam (Faculty of Film, Theatre & Animation) from 2002 - 2005 as a part-time lecturer but started teaching again in 2011. In addition, he also taught at the University of Malaya (UM) (Faculty of Performing Arts) from 2010 - 2013, as a part-time lecturer.
